As we know, life is always challenging us. Not only challenging our goals, but our basic personal characteristics. For those of you who have set high goals for themselves and work towards them every single day, the pressure can sometimes make you feel as though you are going to break. Whether we chose to fight these pressures head on, or curl up in a ball and let them win, defines our characteristics. There is a quote from one of my favorite movies, (I have written on my mirror) it states “ IF IT WERE EASY EVERYONE WOULD DO IT. THE HARD IS WHAT MAKES IT GREAT.”  I read it every morning when I am brushing my teeth. It holds true that any great goal worth accomplishing takes time, dedication, and perseverance

I believe in utilizing this way of thinking, and applying it to, not only my life goals, but my fitness goals as well. For those of you who REALLY know me, I do not fail. Never in my life have I ever failed at something. Call it what you want, but its a trait that i believe was ingrained in my as a young child from my parents. From my making the All Star teams in soccer and softball, to getting a full ride to Syracuse University, to winning a Figure Competition, to starting my own Personal Training business, I cannot let anything stop me. I call is Tunnel Vision. At times my tunnel vision can be seen as a fault, secluding myself or sacrificing my health from overworking are issues that I must deal with.

I am writing this because I have just overcome being ill while preparing for my National Figure Competition in Vegas. I did what I had to do to get better so I can get back on track. Between all the events going on in my life, with the addition of training, I wore myself out. I decided to give myself the rest I needed, and now I am back, fired up, ready to take the stage next week. I have been trying to make up for lost time, but I know that I will pull it off because there is nothing i want more than to show off my hard work up on that stage!

I want to thank everyone in my life and my circle of friends that have supported me on this tough journey! This has definitely been a tough mudder, but knowing I will prevail, gives me that much more motivation!

I hope that my readers can use my experience to help them overcome their life obstacles and keep in mind that with a little extra effort, planning, and perseverance, they can hit their fitness goals! When you are feeling down about something you ate, not working out, or not being happy with your health and physical shape, its time to step out of the corner and face it head on.
